Author and app developer Ami Otsuka (representative of Hundreds LLC) launched AMI RESORT (amiresort.com), a web publication about moving abroad, on August 18, 2026. It records the amounts actually paid in the course of moving overseas and what happened on the ground.
Five articles were available at launch.
- I threw away my suitcase and flew home rather than pay AirAsia's extra 14,000 yen
- I forgot my wallet and flew to Thailand anyway: a month in Bangkok on one card and 30,000 yen in cash
- A war broke out, so I paid 300,000 yen to get out
- I told Gemini I wanted to go to a spa every day and ended up moving to Bangkok
- I get into the pool every evening
None of the articles is written as advice on how to relocate. Each is a record of Otsuka's own failures and actual costs.
