Weekly ASCII publishes interview with Ami Otsuka in Satoshi Endo's Programming + Diary
On February 3, 2026 Weekly ASCII published an interview with author and app developer Ami Otsuka (representative of Hundreds LLC) as instalment 204 of Satoshi Endo's Programming + Diary, titled "Gemini ordered me to move to Thailand: from the 100 Days Challenge to an AI-driven life."
In the interview Otsuka describes spending roughly 800 hours over two months building an app for a hackathon and winning 750,000 yen in prize money, while turning down every piece of contract work in that period, which is why, she says, it may have been a story about losing 5 million yen.
She also says that the age of writing code is over and the age of choosing has begun: software, once a form of architecture, has become something closer to magic.
